Violin &
Strings Lessons

Our strings instructors teach a wide variety of genres — from classical concertos to folk fiddle — for students of all ages and levels.

What You'll Learn

Our violin instructors develop well-rounded string players — technically precise and musically expressive.

Bowing & Technique

Develop proper bow hold, arm weight, and stroke technique — the keys to producing a beautiful, resonant tone on the violin.

Intonation & Ear Training

The violin has no frets, so developing a precise ear is essential. We train your pitch accuracy from the very first lesson.

Scales & Repertoire

Build technical fluency through scales and études while exploring a rich repertoire spanning classical masterworks to contemporary pieces.

Ensemble & Performance

Learn to play with others and perform confidently — whether in a recital, orchestra, or informal setting.

Whatever genre moves you, we teach it.

All Skill Levels Welcome

From your very first note to concert performance — we meet you where you are.

Beginner

Never picked up a violin? We start with posture, bow hold, open strings, and simple melodies — building a strong foundation from the very first note.

Intermediate

Already playing? We work on shifting positions, vibrato, more advanced bowing techniques, and a wider range of repertoire.

Advanced

Ready for serious study? We focus on advanced concertos, orchestral excerpts, audition preparation, and refining your personal artistry.

Common Questions

Do I need my own violin?

Yes — students need their own instrument to practice at home. We can advise on sizing (especially for children) and where to rent or purchase a quality instrument.

What age do you start violin lessons?

Violin is one of the best instruments to start young — we typically begin around age 4–5 using a small-sized instrument. Adults are also very welcome.

How long are lessons?

Lessons are available in 30-minute or 60-minute sessions. Younger beginners usually start with 30 minutes, while older students benefit from 60-minute sessions.

Do you teach fiddle styles as well as classical?

Absolutely. Our string instructors teach a wide variety of genres including classical, fiddle, folk, Celtic, bluegrass, and more — whatever style excites you.
